The transition from Primary Level to Secondary is a crucial phase in a student’s life, as they enter adolescence, maturing in their thinking, and developing their own identity. At Matribhumi, we help our students expand their knowledge and skills through an integrated curriculum that follows the National Standards. Our experienced faculty empowers students to work independently and responsibly, providing individual attention and support to help them expand their knowledge and skills during this critical period of development.
Our students learn through a hands-on approach that further develops their thinking skills, communication skills, research skills, social skills and self-management skills. At the secondary level, the incorporation of digital resources intensifies, with increased use of educational websites, apps, and digital textbooks. Additionally, students actively participate in Curriculum-Based Outreach Projects and Community Projects, enabling them to apply their learnings to real-world problems and situations, fostering a practical and holistic approach to education.
The reading culture is further enhanced at the secondary level with more focus on intensive reading programmes, creative writing workshops and the Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) Programme. Students are actively encouraged to utilize the library as a dedicated research space. By engaging in extensive reading and research, students develop into lifelong learners, fostering a deep appreciation for knowledge and a passion for continuous intellectual growth.
Our students pursue their interests and passions through various Activity Clubs that offer opportunities for creativity, innovation, and leadership. With options ranging from performing arts like music, dance, and drama, to visual arts including art and pottery, as well as academic development activities such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) and robotics, there's something for everyone. They showcase their talents and skills through regular programs and competitions organized both within and outside the school, fostering a dynamic and vibrant learning environment.
Celebrating festivals and commemorating important occasions is an integral part of our student's learning experience. They are encouraged to take on the responsibility of planning these events themselves, fostering the development of their social skills and cultural awareness. This hands-on involvement not only enhances their understanding of diverse traditions but also instils a sense of responsibility and teamwork.
Our students also develop strong ethical values and a love for lifelong learning through our Ethics Education Program. This program imparts lessons on respect, honesty, compassion, justice, and peace. Furthermore, we follow teaching-learning practices that equip our students to be globally competent and confident individuals. The Secondary Level Programme at our school is designed to prepare students for both academic excellence and personal growth.
